J. Lee Amason, Jr. DMD, PC
Dr. J. Lee Amason, Jr. was raised on the Georgia coast in a small town called Darien. The eldest of five children, he was named after his father, Jack, from whom he developed his indefatigable work ethic. He inherited his love for music from his mother, Ginny, and began playing the bass guitar at around the same time he began working in the family business, a seafood processing plant. From thirteen years old until he was twenty-six, Dr. Amason worked alongside his father and brothers in the plant. During that time, he grew to admire his family dentist and began to consider dentistry as a career.
Dr. Amason began wearing red high-tops in high school and has worn the shoes almost daily ever since.
He received his B.S. in biology from Valdosta State University in 1982 and his D.M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in 1986. He also spent time studying at the L.D. Pankey Institute, the most respected continuing dental education institute in the world.
Ever since, he has played an active part in the Kennesaw community. Aside from being a dentist, he is an avid health and fitness enthusiast. He also loves the outdoors--hiking, skiing, bicycling and rock climbing are just a few of the many things he enjoys. His wife, Tia, and his daughter, Charlee, often join him in his many outdoor adventures.
